WELCOME!!! Wow, a website of my very own and my very first blog post, oh the possibilities that 2021 brings!
If I’m honest, 2020 was a pretty great year in a lot of ways for me. That’s not to say there weren’t times that challenged me, where I made huge life altering decisions and that I didn’t cry a ton, but overall I’ve been blessed! I hate to feel that way in a year when so many have suffered in such big ways, but I can’t lie about how much positive 2020 brought into my life.
At the beginning of the year, I told myself and a few select friends that this year would finally be about me. My happiness, my mental health, my safety, my overall well being. A year to be positive and to look forward to the future.
I found myself, I found self love, self respect and self worth. I healed. I found growth. I found peace! I found what makes me happy!
I found love with an incredible man, Steven. we are ourselves around each other. And he’s the love of my life! I’m excited for our future and to see where life takes us!
I bought a home in Charlotte that is filled with love, mutual respect, understanding, family, and so much more. It’s a home that I want to go home to and that I’m excited to enter as I drive down the street.
I have spent so much time with my dad, Lisa (step-mom) and Nick (step brother) this year that makes me beyond ecstatic!
I have friendships that mean the world to me. And I remain covered in fur with 2 of the sweetest cats (Mirra and Bella)! Bella is the kitten I adopted in September. She’s 6 months old and when I tell you she was meant to be mine, there is no truer statement!
2021 is going to be a year where I take chances, that I push my comfort zone and tackle tasks that I might not have in the past. Task 1- creating a website/blog to post for all the world to see! It’ll be the year when my divorce is finalized (can I get an hallelujah?!). A year when I start to blog and open up to you, my tribe, Tribe Metz, about the things that fuel me and contribute to my happiness and fulfillment. I’m eager to teach you home decor tips and tricks and easy DIY projects that will inspire you to get out those tools and create DIY furniture and DIY canvas art on a budget. An easy DIY project to start you off would be this DIY laundry room table!
And as we get control of COVID-19, I’ll share my work travel and personal travel tips and tricks! Boy do I miss airplanes and hotels!
While it’ll never be in my nature to put myself before others or to not care about what people think, I’ve realized that, I know who I am at my core and that every person that comes into my life is there for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. There are blessings in each. There’s much to be thankful for in my life!
Cheers to living another year, to a safe, happy and healthy new year for everyone and to the hope and possibility that 2021 brings!
Let’s get this party started!!!
